Sugar Baby is the trendsetting new children's clothing boutique located in the heart of Hollywood, California on the legendary Sunset Strip.

The boutique, which celebrated its grand opening Monday, June 21, 2004, is poised to be one of Los Angeles' most talked about new must-stop shopping destinations, with its eclectic inventory of unique, artful and hip kid's clothes. Conceived by moms Christina Sitkevich and Lisa Akey, this is not your mother's clothing store! Sugar Baby is a contemporary store with an urban city bent for "rocker moms not soccer moms."

Christina Sitkevich - Born in Boston, Massachusetts to the parents of a Harvard architect and a teacher, this took the family many places, it landed the family at Texas A&M at College Station. Christina's father was part of the faculty and her mother a student. Eventually, the family relocated to Colorado.

The fashion retail scene is not new to Christina, who for ten years, owned a very successful retail-clothing boutique, which was later sold in early 2001. With a desire for something even more challenging, Christina and her husband decided to move to Los Angeles to seek new and exciting opportunities. She started a design and architecture company serving both interior and exterior design (Area Architecture and Design). After many successful projects Area Architecture and Design continue serving clients to this day in the greater Los Angeles area. Taking a momentary break from design, the birth of her daughter Lilah laid the groundwork for her new retail idea. After taking time with her family, Christina descided to dive back into the retail scene and open another store and went looking for a partner.

Sugar baby is for mamas, kids, babies and anyone looking for a thoughtful gift. You dont have to spend alot to look smart and have your kids feel great.

Christina and Lisa are business partners on this exciting new venture and being close Hollywood neighbors is always a big plus. A collaboration between two moms, we wanted to start something different, one thing lead to another and Sugar Baby was born.

Lisa Akey - Lisa began her stage career a age 4, turning professional at 15. She has sung to the troops in the Persian Gulf and trekked mountains in Turkey with band in tow to bring the allied forces a little musical R&R. She has appeared on Broadway and extensively on television.

Her seeds started with small in-house designs, graphic design and custom bedding pieces for wee ones. But this self-taught chef and designer went looking for more. Meeting Christina got it moving even quicker in February 2004, they signed a lease on their new spot: Sugar Baby on Sunset, May 1, 2004. "I'm interested in creating things that surprise you, not the standard cookie-cutter stuff that you see. I want it to be luscious, but with a sense of humor. I'm lookin for things for moms, too. I want a shop that feels personal and that doesn't pander. And , mostly I deeply believe that just because we are now moms it doesn't mean we don't still have style."

Lisa is married to actor/writer Raphael Sbarge, they have a 22-month old daughter Graice. They all embarked on a new adventure with the birth of their son Django Garrison in July.
